Lake Powell Trip - Miley's Birthday - Provo Trip

During our last and FINAL break of Chiropractic school we spend in Lake Powell and in Provo. I still cant believe that we will be finishing up school in like 2 months! I guess I'm still in denial about leaving. I really love living in the bay area, we've made some life long friends here. We love the ward, the steet, the weather, the million places to tour, and all the HELP we've gotten through the state such as medi-cal/food stamps/wic/rent/gas/books! Seriously it really pays to be poor, haha! We've been so blessed not having to worry about those things.

Anyways, Lake Powell was so much FUN! My oldest brother actually works down at Lake Powell in one of the resorts there. Every year they let him rent out a house boat...for free! This seriously was THE biggest house boat on Lake Powell...a 75 foot to be exact! Anytime we floated by people we could see them gawking and sometimes could see them mouthing the words 'look at that boat'.... In the past whenever we've gone to Lake Powell we've just camped on the beach, so having house boat was a luxury! It was especially nice because we had babies, without the house boat we probably couldn't do it!

We started out our our trip celebrating Miley's birthday! I'm so sad that she didn't have the birthday party we planned for her before we left, but our plans changed and we ended up canceling it! Instead we spent it traveling down to Lake Powell...not the best birthday for her I'm sure. But she's 2, she probably wont remember it anyways.
When we got my brother's place that night I had a small family party planned. I made some homemade red velvet cupcakes....that ended up getting squashed...haha. We'll they tasted good, so that's all that matters, right?

I just cant get over the fact that she is 2!! Seriously where did the time go? I love the stage she is in right now. She's talking so much now, half of which I have no clue what she's saying. She's learning so much, she seriously picks up on a lot! So far she knows most numbers, shapes, and letters of the alphabet. Right now she's learning colors....and potty training! ahhh! Our goal is to have her potty trained by the time we leave here. Well see how well that goes....

One of our favorite things to do in Lake Powell is Cliff Jumping! I can't believe I caved in and jumped off a 50 foot cliff! This video is of us jumping off.
The guys were crazy and decided that 50 feet wasn't high enough...so the jumped off a 60 foot one!!

There wasn't any bathtubs, just showers on the house boat...so we gave all the kids baths in the sink. Miley defiantly has out grown the kitchen sink...but it was still really cute.


Miley did SO good on the boat. We didn't hear a peep from her the whole boat ride! She'd just sit there with her sun glasses and life jacket on.

After our week in Lake Powell we spend a week at my parents place in Provo.
It was so nice to be able to have a relaxing weekend, and have some fun as well.


Makayla hanging out on grandma's couch. Can you see the 2 teeth on the bottom? While we were in Utah she cut through another tooth on top...so she was a little sinker. A cute little stinker though :)
Also on this trip she started picking up her first words! "Uh-oh, da-da, and hi!!' And just this week 'wow'.


The cousins in there PJ's. My mom watched Parker for a week while Lori went on a girls vacation. (Congrats to Lori by the way...expecting a new baby girl!!)


Date Night! Cory's good friend from BYU-Idaho and his wife went to Comedy Sports with us to listen to some stand up comedy. So fun! I haven't laughed so hard in a really long time.


Some girl fun. I love hanging out with my childhood friend, Kristy when I come home. We have the tradition of going to Panda Express and then shopping or a movie...this time we saw a movie. One of my favorite things about Provo is the dollar movies! I'm sad they don't have one here.

I feel like I haven't written much about Makayla lately, so I wanted to brag a little about her!

*Makayla is now 8 months old!
* She is sitting up really well, and can go from sitting up to her tummy. Is rolling...just one way, can't quite figure out how to roll from her stomach to back.
*When she's on her stomach she can pivot around in a circle.
*She's really good at grabbing toys, mommy's phone, earrings, hair, and whatever she can get her hands on!
*She's a good little eater. Night and day difference than Miley! It's so nice to feed a baby and worry about trying to distract them.
*Sleeping....we'll were still working on sleeping through the night. Some nights are better than others.
* Just got her 1st tooth a few days ago, and her second is coming through right now!
* Loves going on walks in the stroller. You can be out for hours and not hear a peep from her.
* Loves, Loves, Loves the bath! It's just the getting dried off and putting clothes on that she hates.
*She is extremely tall for her age! She's in the 97th percentile for height and 60th percentile for weight. I can't believe she is already in 12 month clothes because she is SO tall! She was in the 6-9 month clothes for like 2 weeks!
*Loves watching her sister.
*Is such a content baby, makes my life easier!

3 Week Break, part 2

3 Week Break, Part 2

Alright, finally our 2nd week of our 3 week break we spent in Bear Lake! The First part was spent with my mom's side of the family. My mom and dad had rented a nice big house with plenty of rooms to fit 30 people!!

Although Makayla wasn't out playing in the sand and water that much, she still was as happy as ever!

Miley was in heaven playing in the sand! She had it everywhere. The sand was ingraved in her scalp, and took like 3 shampoo washes to get it all out!

After the Pearson Family left, my family was able to spend the weekend together. (minus Spencer, of course) It's unusual that all of us are together, so we had to get to get a quick picture!

There was lots of haircutting, and coloring going on. I made a ton!! :)

During the weekend with my fam, we celebrated both Cory and Tom's b-day!! Happy Birthday hun!!

For last and final week we spent with my Dad's side of his Family. Can I just say, if you thought 30 people in one house was a lot...then how bout 60!! It seriously was insane having that much people together, but we had a lot of fun!

One of the fun things that Cory and I did was going to the Pickleville Playhouse. My sister watched our girls for us, and in exchange we watched Zoey while they went to the caves nearby.
They came back saying they had a ton of fun, so we decieded to go too. The caves were really neat! Similar to the Timpanous caves, but these were a lot cooler!!

It really was a fun break, we did a lot and will remember these fun memories!!

Our last 3 week Break

Our Last 3 Week Break...

Sad, but true. This is our last 3 week break that we get. I asked Cory when he thinks the next time we will get a 3 week break like the ones we've been getting here at school...he said maybe in like 10 years and maybe not even that. Ha! How depressing. We do have a one week break in September and were planning on going to Lake Powell to see my brother who's living there. But that's the last of our breaks for a long long time. Once Cory starts work, he'll be constantly busy and we will hardly get any time off for a while.

Anyways, so our 3 week break was jammed packed. We did a ton of fun filled things with family and friends!
We decided to drive this time around since we will be traveling around a lot and we have a ton of stuff too! We thought if we left at like 4 in the morning that Miley will fall back asleep til around 8 or so, then take a nap later in the afternoon....but Miley thought staying awake and whining almost the whole time was a lot more fun. We got about an hour break from her while she took a VERY short nap! Makayla on the other hand was a angel, she just sat there and starred at her screaming sister. She slept a lot too, so that was a bonus.
I just love it when my girls fall asleep in the car, it's so cute! I can't help but take a picture!
As I was turned to take the picture of our girls sleeping, I noticed that the batteries were dead! Figures, at the beginning of our adventure my camera dies!! So all the rest of my pictures are borrowed from other cameras.

We started out our 1st week with the Osborne clan. Starting out with the Utah Valley 5K run! I've been running for a few months now, so I was pumped to try and out run Cory. But as soon as I started running, I realized the altitude difference and was gasping for air! We'll I'm happy to say I did finished right behind Cory and along side my sister-in-law, Sarah. It was fun, I'm glad Kari-lynn came up with this idea.

After our run, we all headed to a fun week at Park City!!!

One of the fun things we got to do while we had grandma watching the kiddos was play the 'not so newlywed game' that our hotel put on. Sadly, we didn't win but in defence we played with a lot of oldies. We had fun though!

Paintballing...

I don't know how the boys convinced us girls to go painballing, cuz it didn't turn out exactly like they said it would be. Within 5 minutes of starting the game the girls had enough!! Man, those paintballs hurt!! I know I'm a whip, but in defence I got hit like 6 times in a row and on top of the head (very sensitive area!)

Well at least I can check paintballling off the list of things to do before I die!

It defiantly was an eventful 1st week with the Osborne's...but we have 2 more weeks to go! Haha. But...I have to wait til I get pictures back from my mom camera. So stayed tuned...

4 years!

4 Years!!

I cannot believe that 4 years ago today we were married! It's also weird to think that, that is how long we have know each other too.
Has it really been four years? Do we really have 2 kids? Are we really going to be done with school in like 6 months? Crazy!! Looking back though, we have gone through a lot, and we can't wait to go though more together.
We haven't had the chance to celebrate yet since our anniversary fell on a day that Cory had a big test. Hopefully we can get the chance to get away for a least a couple hours in the next week or two.
I did however, make Cory one of his favorite meals...Cafe Rio! And then spent our evening going on a walk with our girls and watching Miley's new favorite movie...Toy Story. So nothing super exciting, but we both had fun.

Crabbing trip

Crabbing Trip!

This weekend we headed over to Dillon's beach to go crabbing! We both thought that this adventure was probably the most fun we've had since we've lived in the bay area. Both our girls were great, despite the fact that we had to wake the girls up early at 7:30 to go. It's hard to do anything when our girls sleep in til 10! (But I love it, I wouldn't trade it for anything!!)

We really didn't know what to expect from this trip since it was a first for us. We actually had some success, we probably caught about 15-20 crabs. And they were delicious!

This was Miley's first time playing in the sand and she really was unsure about the whole thing. At first she just stood in one place for like 10 minutes because she was afraid to walk in it. But gradually she warmed up to walking, then running, then playing, and finally eating the sand! I'd say she loves to play in sand now. :)

You can see all the fog, this place was pretty cold and foggy. Luckily we had some warm jackets and a fire to keep us warm. Funny how the sand was actually warm, so we walked around bare foot.
