Tulip Festival

I can't believe that I'm actually writing a blog post that happened the same day....and I wrote one yesterday. This never happens.
Anyways, today our little family headed up to see the well-known Tulip Festival here in WA. I had attemped to go once before when Cory and I were first married 5 years ago. We drove all the way up there and they had just cut all the flowers off the day before!! It was so disappointing!
This time around, we planned it perfectly. If we had gone last week the tulips weren't in bloom yet, and in 2 weeks they would have all been over bloomed or damaged by the rain.  We made it right during the prime time where the flowers were in perfect bloom. Plus, we went on a week day so there weren't any crowds. Turned out to be a great day....and the pictures turned out great too. :)

Pebble Beach!!
This March Cory, his dad, his brother, and his uncle spent a weekend in...yes, Pebble Beach! This has been a long time dream of Cory's dad for a long time and they were finally able to pull it together and all go. They really had a blast! An experiance the they all will never forget...this trip was special for a lot of reasons, but mainly for the time that the boys got to spend with his there Dad. Golf has always been the special bond that Rick has shared with his sons, so this was the perfect way for them to make another memory together.

The best moment of all was when Cory got a HOLE IN ONE!

Sping is here!
It has been beautiful up here in Washington. The weather was perfect!! We've spent may days at the park.

One evening I heard the girls playing "doctor" in their room. And I had to sneek a peek to find out what they were doing...this is what I found. Too cute

Easter weekend!

Saturday we spend an aftenoon at Country Village where they had train rides, pony rides,  a play ground, and of course the easter bunny!

After our little adventure at Country Village we headed over to Grandma and Pa-pa's house for a mini easter egg hunt, egg coloring, and a bbq.

 Easter morning!  This was the best picture I could get of the girls in their dresses. They were too excited to go on the easter egg hunt.

After church we headed over to Great Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner and another mini easter egg hunt.

*notice miley's dress, this has been her favorite dress. she begs to wear it everyday. and even when she is wearing it, she refuses to wear a jacket because it covers up the sparkley flower.

 All sorts of fun things inside: Playdough, sidewalk chalk, stickers, paint kit, and treats.

 Easter turned out to be such a beautiful weekend, the weather was gorgeous! My tulips bloomed! I love how the tulips and daffodils grow like weeds here!!

Christmas,New Years, ect...

Christmas


For Christmas this year, we spent it in Utah. I flew out with the girls 2 weeks earlier. Flying by myself is always a challenge. This year wasn't so bad because I was able to have Cory help me all the way up to the gate. We just discovered that Cory can get a pass to help and assist me, totally going to be doing this every time I fly by myself!! When I got to Utah not much was going on for a few days...my dad actually just had total knee replacement surgery and was all doped on medicine. My mom was actually out of town for a few days judging a drill team competition. My younger brothers were in school still, my sister just moved to Spanish Fork, and my older brother was spending Christmas in Powell. So obviously I didn't plan my trip very well...
But thing's got a lot better once my mom came home and Cory flew into town. We spent time at the Provo mall seeing Santa, shopping, playing at the play place, and going on train rides and carousals. The mall was a hit for our girls. We went there twice. Ha ha.

The other fun thing we did was going to see the Spanish Fork Festival of Lights. Also, a big hit for our girls. I can remember going to the same light show as a kid! I'm glad that they use the same stuff. :)
We were able to see a few movies as well. Top favorite of the season was "We bought a Zoo." I'm pretty sure I cried a least 3 or 4 times...Cory admitted that his eyes got "moist." Ha ha.
We also saw the new Mission Impossible movie and the new Sherlock Homes one. Both were good too. :)
Christmas Eve was very fun for the girls cuz we had a special visitor....Santa and Mrs Clause! Makayla was very scared of Santa this year, and Miley was all about Santa, reindeer, presents, and Christmas songs.

Christmas day was so nice. We all slept in, opened our stockings, made some yummy baked french toast, and headed off to Church. We came home and then opened our presents....Santa spoiled me this year. Santa got me a nice new camera!! I've been wanting one for a while now, so it was a very nice surprise. Now I just need to learn how to use it!! Cory had already bought his own Christmas present this year...he bought himself a PlayStation. The girls had a mini Christmas/ birthday party for Makayla before we left to Utah. We didn't really want to haul our presents with us. They still we able to open a few things though.

The day after Christmas we had a huge family dinner at my cousins house. Man, I forget how big my side of the family is!! It was so good to see everyone though. The very next day we flew out, but just before my mom had to take family pictures since everyone was all together. Which doesn't happen very often! We then all went over the the Provo Travelodge to say goodbye. We're sure sad to say goodbye, but were so glad that it's land will be put to good use for the the new Provo Temple!!

New Years

We flew back to WA a few days after Christmas and spent new years at friends house half the time and then the other half we spent it over at Cory's parents house. We just put our girls to bed over at there house and then brought them back home after the party. We had a blast. Good food, friends, family, and fun games!!
So that's our holiday in a wrap!!


New Years Eve

January

This month is going to be a little crazy. Makayla is going into surgery next week to get her tonsils and adenoids taken out. This will be a good thing, since Makayla was a little baby she's always sick! She's a horrible sleeper, and sounds like darth vador. She throws up on a daily basis, her tonsils are so huge the she has to eat very small pieces and soft foods. Makayla forgets that she can't eat too fast and shoves food in her mouth resulting in throwing up! Can't wait for this surgery...just not excited about the whole recovery part!!!

Although we didn't get our white Christmas while we were in Utah...it snowed for us here in Washington!! We've been having a lot of fun playing in it! Our next purchase will have to be a sled!

Pathetic Blogger...

I Apologize....

I am the worst blogger ever, I haven't blogged in several months! To be honest, I have a good reason. We've been insanely busy.
Those that don't know, Cory and I bought out his fathers Chiropractic office this past April due to a sudden retirement. Since then we've been soo busy juggling this new business, moving into a rental house, unpacking, juggling my small hair business, and our new callings. Phew....,
But other than that we've been great. We are so blessed to be where we are now. It was a long and scary couple months figuring out where we were suppose to be. But the Lord has defiantly directed us to where we are now.
Our girls are growing up so fast. I was looking back at some pictures even a couple months ago, and they've both changed so much! Makayla is talking and running around everywhere. She turns 2 in December!
Her hair has gotten so light and very curly. So cute! She loves her big sister, but can be a little stinker to her sometimes. Haha.
Miley is turning 3 in a couple weeks!! Seriously? I look at her now, and she is so big to me. She's so smart. Maybe I'm just bias, but she knows the whole alphabet and there sounds, all the shapes, colors, and our most biggest achievement is that she's potty trained!!!! Just in time for her to start pre-school next month!! We're so excited for her to learn so more, and meet some new friends!
We'll I'd love to write more, but I and hear Makayla waking up from her nap....

Finally....Makayla walking!!

March 27 at the ripe old age of 15 months...Makayla took her first 5 steps.  She giggled and laughed the whole way...absolutely adorable!!! It now has been 4 days since her first 5 steps and has skyrocketed! She's going from one end of the room to the other side!! It's like all a sudden she decided, hmmm I feel like walking today and just got up and did it.  She has brought so much joy to our lives...I don't know how we ever lived without her!!!
