Late Maternity Pictures...

Late Maternity Pictures....

I had gotten these pictures done during the fall, from my good friend Chelsi. I've been working with Chelsi this year on doing senior pictures sessions. I do the hair and make-up and she does the pictures. We make a pretty good team! Check out her website (http://chelsigreenwoodphotography.com/)
My photo session probably lasted 30 minutes beause we both had to rush off to our client. She did so good in the small amount of time we had! It was just something fun that I wanted, glad that I have them!!

Adjusting to three

Adjusting to three...

Our little Kenndy is one month old. I can't believe how fast this month has gone by! Kennedy is starting to grow...I told her to stop it, but she didn't listen to me. Her toes are starting to push through her newborn jammies, it kinda makes me sad when they start growing out of there newborn clothes. I just love the newborn stage, it's probably my favorite stage. I have loved putting Kennedy in the same outfits and jammies that I put the other two girls in. It brings back such sweet memories.

Adjusting to 3 has honestly been a lot easier than I thought. Probably the hardest part has been dealing with the the other 2 girls. Miley is going through a funny stage where she wants to change her clothes 10 times a day...and Makayla does everything Miley does, so she changes her clothes 10 times a day too. That's 20 outfits! I just cant keep up with all the wardrobe changes. I was so fed up with them that I had Cory install child locks on their drawers. That solved that problem. But it didn't solve my new problem of having them take there clothes off and run around naked!
Kennedy has been a breeze, she barely makes a peep all day. She is so content. During her awake time, she'll just sit in her swing for hours and just watch us play. I do feel guilty that I haven't been able to hold and cuddle her like I did, well with Miley...Makayla didn't get held that much either.
But when the girls go to bed, I get to soak up my cuddle time with Kennedy. Cory and I fight over who gets to hold her at night. (I think because who ever is holding her, doesn't have to deal with the other 2 kiddos when they get out of bed. haha)

Kennedy sleeps like a champ, at night she's up about every 4 1/2 hours. She'll be up at midnight, then again at 4:30 and then at 9. She's even had a few 6 hour stretches! So I feel well rested and still have energy to play with the girls when they wake up at 9 too.

She is a great nurser, nursing has been a breeze. She even takes the bottle so I can leave her with Grandma or Cory for a bit.

Miley and Makayla have been awesome big sisters to Kennedy. Makayla is constantly smothering her face repeatedly saying "hi, hi, hi, hi".
Miley loves sharing her toys with her. I'll go to check on Kennedy and she's got toys covered all around her...hmm who could of done that? They both beg to hold her whenever she's awake. And whenever she happens to cry they'll run over to her and say "it's okay, it's okay." If there is a binky nearby, they'll try to shove it in her mouth. I know they are just trying to help . :)
You'd think Kennedy would cry whenever the girls are nearby, but she doesn't seam to mind at all. There have been a few times that the girls have hit her head and made her cry, but that's about it...so far.

Another thing that has made adjusting really easy is that I haven't made dinner at all since Kennedy was born! The first week home we had a bunch of family and friends help us out by making us dinner, then my Mom came and made us dinner for a week. Since my mom left we've been eating my pre-made freezer meals.
For the last couple months of my pregnancy I made about 30 freezer meals. I started making so much that we had to buy a freezer for our garage...I even had to put more meals in my mother in laws extra freezer too!

Having three has had it's moments though. Going out in public by myself is challenging.... Kennedy usually sleeps the whole time, but still lugging around the car seat with two rambunctious toddlers is no easy task. Going to the bathroom in public with the girls is even more difficult now. I can't do it with out a handicap stall. Let's just say whoever is the bathroom with us at the same time is probably laughing there heads off. My public affairs are very brief now. :)
I am so lucky that we have Fred Meyers though...grocery shopping is possible with it. I just drop off the 2 girls in the playland and I get to shop for an hour. I think it's worth paying a little extra to shop there just to have that hour of freedom.
I'm counting down til Kennedy is 6 weeks...that means I can drop her off at the YMCA and I can work out again!! Very excited about that. :)

I think I expected the worst about having three, so that's why I think having three is easy. Moving from 1 to 2 was harder for me than 2 to 3. Miley and Makayla were 14 months apart, so having them that close together was very challenging. Miley wasn't even walking when Makayla was born!
Kennedy and Makayla are three years apart, and to me that is so much easier. They are actually helpful to some extent. :)

I just love my 3 girls!!

Birthday Girl

Happy Birthday Makayla!!

I can't believe our sweet Makayla is 3 years old!  I've always called her our "sweet" Makayla because she has always has a sweet domineer about her. She so polite with everyone. I get complements all the time about how polite Makayla is. Even as a newborn she was so content and loved watching Miley play...just waiting for the day she could join her. And oh how she loves Miley, just yesterday she spent a one on one sleepover party with Rhonda, and the moment she came home she runs over to Miley and gives her a big hug! Just melted my heart. You should see these two play, it's hilarious. Makayla copies everything Miley does and says...even facial expressions.

I was just looking back at some old pictures of her, and just made realize how quickly time goes. She once was a little newborn like in the picture below.  Happy birthday Makayla, we are so lucky that you came into our lives, our family just wouldn't be complete without you in it!!

Kennedy's Newborn Pictures

Kennedy's Newborn Pictures

Can I just say that I love trade work! Trade work has definitely come in handy for me over the years. Another great bonus for doing hair, everyone needs there hair done! I found a friend in my ward who wanted to do some trade work...umm yes please!!  She has done an amazing job! I seriously had no idea what all went into taking newborn pictures. She's got it all down to a science...
I had to keep Kennedy awake a whole hour before, so when it was time to take pictures I just had to feed her and she'd be out like a light.  We ended up taking these at my mother-in-law's house since she has a lot more space, which turned out to be a good thing cuz I had no idea how much stuff  was needed for these pictures.  Just a few things she brought.... a bean bag chair, lots of blankets, lots of baskets, fur, bows and hats, wraps, outfits, back drops, fake floors, and huge lights. I'm sure there was a lot more too, that's just all I saw.
Not to mention that this took almost 4 hours to take...but these turned out amazing so it was all worth it!!

Sorry there are a lot, and I didn't even put all of them up...Enjoy!

Kennedy Grace Osborne

We'd like to welcome to our family....

Kennedy Grace Osborne

Born November 15th, 2:32 am.  6lbs 11oz, 19'' long

Kennedy couldn't wait til the 28th to come into our family, and neither could we!!
We are so glad she came 2 weeks early, we cant imagine the last 2 weeks with out her. We choose the middle name GRACE because of the fact she was born right around Thanksgiving. I love the word GRACE, the word has so many beautiful meanings behind it. And it describes our sweet little Kennedy so well.

The Birth Story:

It all started Wednesday the 14th at 1:30am, I woke up with bad contractions...the kind that keep you up at night. I layed in bed and walked around for a few hours hoping they'd go away...but they stuck around. So at 4:30 we decided to head to the hospital. We called Cory's aunt Linda to come by the house to watch the girls. The original plan was to have Cory's mom come by...but she was gone visiting her girls in St. Louis until the 15th.
So as soon as Linda came to the house we headed off to the hospital. We checked into triage, got all hooked up and then they checked me...I was only at a 3! I was for sure thinking I was a lot further along based on how bad the contractions were.  They then had us walk around for an hour and then checked again to see if I had progressed....But I was still a 3. psh! We decided to come home since by that point the contractions had lightened up.
Later that afternoon I had a my regular Dr's appointment, and was able to get checked again to see if I made any progress from that morning. I had moved up to a 4 and was 100% effaced.  His prediction was that I would be back in less than 12 hours.
I'm not sure if it was the way my Dr had checked me, but he had made me bleed and caused my contractions to come back. By the time I had gotten home my contractions were a lot worse than before. These were about 3-4 minutes apart and the kind that made me cry. :(
I called my mom, and she told me to get to the hospital! I wasn't sure I was in actual labor and I didn't want to make another trip out to the hospital!! But she assured me that I was.
Luckily, Cory was just finishing up work and was picking up some Panda Express. I called him and told him to forget picking up dinner, we need to head back to the hospital and to call your Aunt Linda back!
It was a very emotional evening, I hated leaving the girls in my condition. They were worried about me and the baby in my belly. Miley was so sweet and kept giving my belly hugs and kisses. :)
The drive to the hospital was extremely difficult, sitting down is the worst when your in labor!  As we were walking to the hospital, my Dr was just walking out to his car. Haha! He was working a 24hr shift between the 2 different hospitals and told me that he wanted to try to and be there for my delivery! I have really appreciated our Dr, he's such a nice man...not to mention he's LDS and in my Mother-in-Law's ward.
So we were back in triage, same drill as before...I was checked, and I was still just a 4! Seriously! I was shocked that I wasn't further along! So we did the same thing as before, walking around for an hour. By the end of the hour I was so mad, my contractions were barely there! We were literally skipping through the halls trying to break my water. You'd think having gone through 2 other pregnancies that I would have this figured out by now. I can tell you now that each pregnancy and labor are completely different!
When we got back to triage the nurse came to us and told us how lucky we were...my Dr had given the go ahead admitting me and letting my have an epidural and then breaking my water no matter how far dilated I was. So happy! (They typically don't do this) My Dr knew my history of going extremely fast after my water is broken, and figured the same would happen with this pregnancy....and he was right :)
I was still checked and was at a 4.5...a little mad, but it didn't matter cuz I was going to be having a baby no matter what!!
Heading upstairs into labor and delivery!!

I was really excited that I would be getting an epidural this time since my last two pregnancies I went
too fast and was not able to get one. I wanted to see what all the hype was all about!
My Dr came in, broke my water and left to do a quick surgery at the other hospital...He wasn't sure if he'd be back in time, but was hopeful.  The nurse then said she'd be back in an hour to check my progression...so Cory and I slept, well I attempted to. I had the jitters, and had too much fun watching the monitor going up whenever I had a contraction.
Cory thought I looked cute all hooked up and ready to have a baby. Haha

At the end of the hour the nurse came back with some pitocin to speed up the progress. That's when Cory perked up and demanded that she at least needed to check me first to see how much I have progressed. We couldn't believe that the nurse was about to give me pitocin without really consulting with me or the Dr first! After having her check me, which I was at a 5.5 at this point, my Dr had called to see the status on my condition. I was indeed progressing so I was to wait another hour and to be checked again. So we laid there for yet another hour, and by the end of the hour I started to feel that 'pressure' they kept asking me if I felt...I knew the baby was coming!! We could tell the nurse was surprised when she found out I was at a 10 and the head was "right there."
She goes..."oh umm, let me... just call the Dr..." with a slight tension in her voice. It was quite funny watching everyone hussling around tyring to set everything up. We were so lucky that our Dr was finished with his surgery and was able to swing in and delivery our baby!
With two contractions, I pushed her out. In fact Cory says that with my second push she 'flew' out and the Dr caught her almost like a football. Haha.

We both fell in love with our new little addition!

One last thing our Dr did for us was sing a traditional Swedish birthday song; sung only on the day of there birth, followed with a toast. This was very touching to us, not only because he was giving us special treatment but because Cory's dad had served his mission in Sweden as well as our Dr.
Our Dr didn't even know that Rick had served his mission in Sweden, so that was even more touching. While he sung this song, both Cory and I felt as though Rick was standing right there.

We know Rick has been very busy lately helping user not only our baby, but Kyle and Sarah's baby the day before and then a couple days later Cory's cousins baby.

6 lbs 11 oz....so sorry about the crotch shot. She's a girl alright.

The girls meeting there sister for the very first time.

We had gotten the girls there own baby dolls and told them that it was a gift from there new sister. They absolutely loved them!

Proud Daddy

Grandma flew in just in time to see us at the hospital. :)

Getting ready to go home! Cory had gone out and bought this cute little outfit for Kennedy. When we were walking into the hospital I had told Cory that I didn't get a chance to buy Kennedy a new outfit for her "coming home outfit.'' My baby shower was to be that weekend so I was just waiting til after that...but she came before. Haha

Putting her into the car seat...we've both forgotten how tricky this is. She's just so tiny!

Mission accomplished! Ready to go!

Can you tell Miley is super excited to hold her baby sister!

They love there new sister.

Love this picture, it shows how tiny Kennedy is. Which one is bigger? Haha, I think the doll is!
